What is a Manuscript Critique?

A critique is a 'big picture' feedback of your manuscript, focusing on its major strengths and weaknesses. It’s ideal for clients who are not quite ready to commit to editing or need help analyzing whether their  message was effectively conveyed. This type of feedback is not as in-depth as a developmental or hybrid editing and does not address grammatical errors. The manuscript rarely has Track Changes or any marks. A critique is a great first step in a client-editor relationship. The feedback is sent in an editorial note, often three to six pages (but may be more) with potential steps and/or ways to better improve the manuscript and author voice.

Turnaround time is usually 3 business days per 10k + 1 day.
